Copenhagen Fashion Week and its emerging talent consistently signal which early-stage trends are on the verge of going mainstream. Happy Reading!!
Itโs a running joke in our office that Copenhagen Fashion Week breeds micro-trends, but the proof is in the runway. Less flashy than Milan or Paris, CPHFW feels far more down-to-earth and aligned with everyday style. Explode they did. The Spring/summer 2027 runways were brimming with ‘It girl’ signaturesโthink capri pants and waist-slung scarves. Up-and-coming avant-gardists like Studio Constance and Nicklas Skovgaard experimented with sculptural panniers and playful ruffles, while classic minimalist labels like By Malene Birger and Freya Dalsjรธ focused on masterclass draping and muted palettes. It was a lineup that effortlessly spanned the full spectrum from maximalist to minimal.
Below, the key trends that emerged at Copenhagenโs Spring 2027 Fashion Week.

Blouses Barely Hanging On –
Tops and dresses seemed to barely cling to the shoulder this season. Brands like Freya Dalsjรธ, Anne Sofie Madsen, and The Garment excelled in artful asymmetry, showing pieces that looked as though a fluid length of fabric was effortlessly tacked onto the model’s frame.

A Collective White Out –
One of my fave, if you know me:) While monochrome ruled the week, all-white ensembles stole the show. Brands like By Malene Birger and Collina Strada proved the power of restraint, sending out head-to-toe white looks that made a striking statement in their simplicity.

Beautiful Slime –
Thereโs an art to making ‘ugly’ colors look undeniably chic. This season, designers proved it by turning a chartreuse-y slime green into fashion’s newest obsession. Thanks to smart fabrics and high-impact styling, the offbeat shade stole the spotlight at Stine Goya, Collina Strada, and Gestuz.

Dainty Frog Closures –
Nothing adds an understated touch quite like a frog closure. Labels like By Malene Birger and The Garment brought the classic, decorative fastener to simple outerwear this seasonโdelivering a quiet, intentional flourish to clean-lined outerwear. I have a dedicated post about frog closure on my IG feed, just in case!!

Capri Pants Take Over –
The capri revival has been bubbling for a while, but Spring 2027 was its true tipping point. Copenhagen offered a capri for every mood: sleek and refined at Mfpen and The Garment, versus loud, vibrant, and playful at Caro Editions and OpรฉraSport.

The New Panniers –
Reimagining the pannierโthe 17th- and 18th-century side hoops that dramatically exaggerated the hipsโprovocative brands like Institution, Studio Constance, and Taus brought an avant-garde, historical edge to the SS27 runways.

Just Add a Ruffle –
In Copenhagen, even minimalism comes with a twist. The seasonโs unwritten rule? Add a ruffle. Whether subtle or theatrical, flounce and frills made surprise appearances on the runways of Baum und Pferdgarten, Nicklas Skovgaard, and even menswear-leaning Mfpen.

A Waist Adornment –
It’s the waist-styling trick that has taken over fashion circles, but Copenhagen took it a step further this season. Designers turned the simple waist-slung scarf into an art form: Skall Studio draped delicate scarves over airy nightdresses, and Baum und Pferdgarten added ruffled waist ties to classic pant suits.

Leg Warmers –
Running late from rehearsal? You’re right on trend. Leg warmers made a surprise comeback on the runway, layered beneath sleek tailoring, formal dresses, and shimmering sequins, with the ribbing hooked seamlessly under pointed heels. Collina Strada, naturally, took a more literal approachโsending barefoot models down the runway. #balletcore
