Floral appliquรฉs and brooches are examples of trends outside my typical aesthetic that I found unexpectedly appealing.
Iโve always favored timeless pieces over fleeting trends, but every season a few key styles effortlessly find a home in my wardrobe. This spring and summer, I ended up leaning into a few trendier additions: bloomers, jelly flats, capris, and statement oversize sunglasses. Even though itโs only July, Iโm already looking ahead to fallโmentally digesting the runway shows, my TikTok feed, and a few of my own trend predictions. Since my wardrobe is heavily built around shirts, skirts and suits, suit skirts are at the top of my wish list. Iโm also loving the return of playful tights: a fun, low-commitment accessory that transforms an outfit without breaking the bank. Kitten heels and knee-high boots have always been personal staples, but this fall, theyโre set to be everywhere.
Here are the fall 2026 trends at the top of my radar right now. Happy Reading!!

FUN SLIP DRESSES –
While a classic, ’90s-inspired black slip dress will always have a spot in my wardrobe, I’ve been loving more playful, elevated takes on the style lately. For a touch of high-key glamour, I’m picturing one styled with a lush faux-fur coat.

ARGYLE –
Argyle is another trend carrying over from last year, evoking total ’90s nostalgiaโthink Cher Horowitz in Clueless or vintage Vivienne Westwood. I practically lived in my Swedish Stockings Franka Check Tights last fall and can’t wait to bring them back into rotation. Top of my wish list this season? A timeless argyle knit, like Kallmeyerโs coveted (and currently sold-out) Nina Crewneck.

FUNNEL-NECK COATS –
After bypassing the funnel-neck wool coat last season, I spent the colder months wishing I hadn’t. Beyond its utilitarian draft-blocking appeal, the silhouette offers undeniable elegance. Jil Sanderโs F/W 26 collection reaffirmed that this isn’t a quick trend, but a true outerwear investment.

T-STRAP SHOES –
My interest in T-strap shoes was first piqued back in spring after seeing Parisian influencer Sylvie Mus wear them. Heading into the cooler months, I love the idea of styling a pair with cozy, wool gray pants.

BROOCHES –
I used to skip the brooch trend, but meeting a local designer in an art fair changed everything when she gifted me her brand’s pink colored bird Brooch. Beautifully made with artistic touch, it’s such an easy piece to clip onto a bag, shirt, or shoe to instantly elevate an outfit.

DARK-WASH DENIM –
If you read about my recent jeans-shopping saga, you know Iโve fallen in love with this brand called Citizens of Humanity, after finally buying a few new pair of Jeans, I’m fully convertedโand now, I have my sights set on a sleek dark-wash pair for fall.

ROYAL PURPLE –
Purple hasn’t been in my wardrobe rotation for years, I think last time I wore this color was on my birthday back in 2019, but according to my True Autumn color palette, it’s one of my top shades. Since itโs trending for fall, I think I’m finally ready to embrace it.

SOFT PINK –
Turquoise owned summer 2026, but fall is all about soft pink. With major backing from Chanel, Conner Ives, Sandy Liang, and Valentino, itโs officially the shade of the season.

FLORAL APPLIQUES –
Floral appliquรฉs are easily the most unexpected trend on my radar, but yet another iconic Alexa Chung moment completely won me over. The moment I saw her in that Dior dress at the Met Gala, I was hooked. Major houses like Chanel, Khaite, and Simone Rocha have all embraced the 3D detail for fall, prompting me to pick up Sleeperโs Genus Rose Midi Dress as my personal node to the look:)

SUIT SKIRT –
The defining skirt trend of fall 2026? The suit skirt. It dominated the runways at Celine, Chanel, Gucci, The Row, and Tom Ford, making it an absolute must-have.

PLAYFUL TIGHTS –
For a low-investment, high-impact update, statement tights reign supreme on my fall wish list. Building on the momentum of red and white hosiery from recent seasons, the fall 2026 collections offered fresh iterationsโfrom whimsical polka dots at Caro Editions to vibrant blue at Jil Sander and understated ribbed cashmere at The Row.

TAPESTRY DESIGNS –
My fascination with this ornate aesthetic began when Alexa Chung stepped out in a fur-trimmed silk-taffeta coat by Viktor Gichev. The fall 2026 collections proved it was only the beginning: tapestry-style designs took center stage, showcased in everything from intricate Conner Ives dresses to sculptural, art-like car coats.

CROC-EFFECT BAGS –
Rich texture is taking over my accessory wishlist in the form of croc-embossed leather. The pinnacle of the trend is the Chanel bag recently spotted on both Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner, though a preview of Clare V.โs upcoming fall collection proved there are equally chic, accessible takes on the horizon.

That’s All:)
